You can find this impressive piece of nature in the Munnichsbos or Monnikenbos. This is an ancient natural forest. A paradise for mosses, ferns, mushrooms, woodpeckers and squirrels. It's like hearing the monks singing and being a gnome in this giant forest.
Location
You can find the 'cathedral of trees' where the road Roskam turns into a dirt road, the road from Sint Odiliënberg to Waldfeucht. There is a picnic bench by the little bridge over the Vlootbeek. You can park your car here. Then walk 200 metres and you can turn right into the forest. You walk about 300 metres into the forest and then you come to an open area between large trees.
