Drama on the river Meuse
On 11 November 1944, a ferry accident takes place in Kessel. Seven Belfelden people are forced by German soldiers to cross with the ferry. The ferryman refused to cooperate: the ferry was incorrectly loaded, flooded and heavily overloaded. But order is order. The ferry capsizes and sinks. Man and horse drown in River Meuse.
