The tour starts and ends in Roermond.The route leads past various places and locations where, during the Second World War, memorable events took place. During the tour are a few excursion moments. Like a visit to the war monument and mass grave in Montfort and the monument on the Luzekamp in Roermond. On December 26th 1944, 14 men and boys were executed here.
Photo books in the bus give a clear picture of the destruction devastation during and just after the liberation.
The bus tour gives an impression of how difficult and time-consuming the advance of the Allies during WWII was in this small part of Holland.
The distance between Thorn en Roermond is approximately 15 kilometers. Yet it took the allied forces nearly six months, from mid September 1944 till March 1st 1945, to cover the distance!
