This cycle route is named after the well-known stallion Nico van Melo and leads through seven church villages in Venray. The route passes through the beautiful villages of Castenray, Veulen, Heide Venray, Oostrum, Geijsteren and Wanssum.
The stallion became a household name in draft horse breeding. Nico van Melo is a stallion born in 1935 at breeder Emiel Verstraaten. This stallion became 4 years in a row (1946-1949) glorious Dutch champion with his offspring.
